A rap album that does not mess around 2010-05-18

Project Pat did not make this album to be politically correct, or make a statement about the inequalities in the hood and blah blah blah. Project Pat made this because this is real life, and each of the tracks are like an episode in the hard life.

This album has the most chilling rap song I have ever heard, "Aggravated Robbery." The screams of those he is robbing is heard, as well as the graphic lyrics of him killing a corner store clerk and his manager.

However, the thing is that he does not do this for commercial reasons, he does it because Project Pat tells it like it is.

Thus, this album is a dark hip-hop masterpiece, and not something to dance to at a party.

The unofficial member of Three 6 Mafia and brother of member Juicy 'J', Project Pat's release Mista Don't Play: Everthangs Workin has a hustler / criminal minded approach. Using the formula of other Hypnotize Minds releases with a platform completely produced by D.J. Paul & Juicy 'J' expectations are high for Mista Don't Play. The album opener and lead single, "Chickenhead" featuring La Chat & Three 6 Mafia, exemplifies his ability of storytelling with sense of humor. "Cheese And D*pe" contains all of this album's ingredients found of this song with witty lyrics "...I'mma go I'mma pull me a rabbit out a hat / ounce of caine mixed with sugar and some killers strapped with gats..." The smoking and drinking anthem "Whole Lotta W**d" with a hypnotic, mystic and dark aura fit the LP's concept and feel. Educating males from heartbreak from gold diggers on "Don't Save Her" featuring Crunchy Black giving street rules. "If You Ain't From My Hood" featuring DJ Paul & Juicy 'J' and the hooded "North North" represents Memphis on these attempts. On the strip with "Gorilla Pimp" where mackin' and slappin' takes place with an agressive hustler tale. "Break Da Law 2001" featuring Three 6 Mafia is taking some of the earlier underground classic up to date. One of the highlights of the album, "We Can Get Gangsta" is a true tale of Project Pat's parole violation over impressive keys and arrangement. Keeping it gangster on "Ski Mask" featuring Crunchy Black whether its a robbery or gun play. "Life We Live" featuring Namond Lumpkin & Edgar Fletcher is the only mainstream attempt with a R&B twist. It was an necessity to give depth to this release as Project Pat flows flawlessly clean. Could be found or used as stripper's theme, "Ooh Nuthin'", speaks of his favoriate body parts of women. Pat's delivery of a poetic criminal on "We Ain't Scared H**" accessorize the production. The gunpoint "Aggravated Robbery" is a step by step play action of the stick up. Memphis, Tennessee's own Project Pat holds his own and has his own style of adding the criminal lifestyle with style more or less.

CLASSIC GANGSTA CRUNK!!! 2006-07-14

Mayne!!! This album was killing everything & anything when it came out. This was pure gangsta crunk before the rest of the country knew anything about the word "crunk". Pat laced up real tight with this album, the production, done by juicy & paul was TOP NOTCH! If you didnt bob your head to any of thease songs then go see a doctor, FAST! ALL THE SONGS ARE STRAIGHT GANGSTA!!! He didnt have any features outside of the THREE SIX CAMP, so your getting a 100% HIPNOTIZE MIND'Z PRODUCT! if you never really were up on Three 6 MAFIA THIS ALBUM IS A GREAT INTRODUCTION TO THEM Even if it isnt a group album. This album will make you go back & peep their earlier work.
If I had to highlight one song off the album it would be "Aggravated robbery" it uses a sample off the movie "carlito's way" when sean penn the crooked lawyer is walking out of the prison. Its in incredible way how they sampled it up & just crunked it up!

This was the first Project Pat album I heard and I loved it. He spits straight gangsta rap and he shows hes not to be played with. He got real big off that Chickenhead single. Pick this one up if you like Three 6 or dirty south rap.
