Description

The classic original Beatles studio albums have been re-mastered by a dedicated team of engineers at Abbey Road Studios in London over a four year period utilising state of the art recording technology alongside vintage studio equipment, carefully maintaining the authenticity and integrity of the original analogue recordings. The outcome of this painstaking process is the highest fidelity the Beatles catalogue has seen since its original open.

Inside every CD's new packaging, booklets contain detailed historical notes along together with informative recording notes. For a limited period, every CD will in addition be embedded together with a brief documentary film concerning the album. The newly produced mini-documentaries on the making of every album, directed by Bob Smeaton, are integrated as QuickTime files on every album. The documentaries contain archival footage, rare photographs and never-before-heard studio chat from The Beatles, offering a distinctive and very personal insight into the studio atmosphere.

Sloppy in conception, and even sometimes in the playing, Let It Be often gets a bad rap. Unfairly, as it's often as charming, well written, and (oh yeah) rocking as the Beatles' "better" albums; it's in addition extra outright fun than Abbey Road, the masterpiece it followed into the stores. Together with Lennon and McCartney working mutually on the ideal "I've Got a Feeling," "Two of Us," and "Dig a Pony," it's hard to think these guys were concerning to implode. --Rickey Wright

Customer rating is 5 of 5  Another Beatles' masterpiece   2010-08-31

This new remastered "Let It Be" album is almost like having it released for the first time. Any Beatles fan must have this.

Non-Beatles music people need to listen to this.

This isn't the first remastered album by the Beatles that I've purchased, and I know it won't be the last. The sound quality is, in a word, stunning. For those of you who may wondering just how good it is, you won't stop with just one selection.

This album has two giant faults which are cheesy production and a lack of great songs. There are a few bright and charming moments, but those are heavily outweighed by uninspired numbers like "For You Blue" and production massacres of "The Long and Winding Road" and "Across the Universe." No number of excuses or explanations can write away these fundamental problems with Let it Be. It's just not very good.
Customer rating is 1 of 5  May be difficult to play on computer. . . .   2010-08-07
By Donna On a Journey
This CD has a short quicktime movie, which executes automatically when inserted into your computer. I couldn't figure out how to listen to the music tracks on my computer. Itunes and other software did not recognize the existence of any music tracks. I had some difficulty until someone told me to use Windows Media Player. When I called Amazon, the customer service reps could not tell me this. The one star is reflective of this, not the music. Just be forewarned.

A must have. The songs still sound amazing. The new mastering is very good. The packaging is a lot of fun to have and read.
